# basset app

> The apps a basset request can target

## list

The default when `app` is run with no subcommand. Lists the apps in the current organization.

```bash theme={"dark"}
basset app list
```

| Flag | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `--org` | Organization slug. Defaults to the one login stored. |

Each app carries an id, a name, an environment, and its API key — the value a real build embeds to reach `ctrl.basset.dev`.

## select

Chooses the app that request commands target when `--app` is not given. The choice is written to your settings file and holds until you choose again.

basset app select <app>
```

| `<app>` | The app name or id. |

An organization with exactly one app needs no choice at all. For a repository that always targets the same app, name it in a `.bassetrc` instead — see [basset config](/cli/config).
